Species: There are approximately 8 different species of bats found in Ontario.

Sizes: Bats can vary in length. The smallest can be 6cm, where the largest can grow to be 15cm.

Wingspan: Bats vary in wingspan depending ont he species. The smallest can be 19cm, where the largest can grow to up to 42cm.

Colour: Brown, though can be more grey or black in appearance.

Behaviour – Bats are nocturnal animals. They sleep in their roost through the day and come out at dusk to hunt for insects.

Habitat – Bats prefer dark and quiet spaces.

Tips for Control and bat removal – Ensure all entry points into the home and attic are sealed. Bats are exceptionally small mammals and can crawl through holes of almost any size. You may enourage bats to roost elsewhere by building or installing bat boxes outside on your property.
